After the death of his father, Dr. Brian Heinen Sr. literally had to run his way through college on a track scholarship before finally graduating from LSU Medical School in 1970. It is his respect for the dignity of every human person, from conception to natural death, that most imbues his personal and professional life, most notably impacting his doctor-patient relations. Charged with a mission, he and his children have set out to change the history of medical care so that no patient ever suffers exploitation through unjust structures in our society. He and his children founded Chronic Disease Solutions because they humbly believe that every patient deserves the right to be treated in accord with their human dignity.
After ten years in private practice, Dr. Chad Heinen was named Director of Hospital Medicine at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he served until 2013. Currently he is Director of Hospital Medicine at Saint Martin Hospital. He was the director of Acadiana Home School Athletics, which served the home school community by providing quality sports programs for High School athletes. He is Vice President of the Olympic Training Academy, which provides an Olympic Training Program in Tumbling and Trampoline. He is President of the Martin Family Institute, which promotes the rich Catholic Identity throughout the Acadiana Area. As a hospitalist he makes it a priority to work alongside his family in Chronic Disease Solutions to promote patient-centered care, while at the same time seeking to eliminate wasteful spending in health care.
Dr. Nicholas Heinen graduated from New Orleans School of Medicine in 2009. After completing residency, he became Medical Director of Coushatta Casino Resort’s Family Medical Center, where he continues to serve today. He uses his own innovative and motivational techniques to encourage a highly engaged and healthy workforce. He also serves as Medical Director of Post-Acute Medical Hospitalist Group, Medical Director of MDiagnostics, and Medical Director at GEO Correctional Services.
Dr. Jade Heinen works side by side with his father as a Family Practice physician at Heinen Medical Clinic in Eunice, LA where he runs an innovative wellness program. He continuously searches for new techniques to help improve patient care and outcomes. As a member of Chronic Disease Solutions, he seeks to advance health care by increasing access to medical technology and by eliminating wasteful spending.
Nicole Melancon was recruited by The Heinen Group for her many accomplishments in business and medical fields as well as her passion to better the lives of everyone around her. Majoring in Pre-Medicine, she graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1996. Not stopping there, she continued her schooling, earning herself an Associate’s Degree of Paralegal Studies in 1994 and a Masters of Microbiology in 1998. After a few years in the legal field, Nicole turned her eye to the medical field. Moving up the ladder through several companies she was hired as a Director of Operations for SchumacherGroup, where she had many successful years growing SchumacherGroup, followed by General Manager for QuadMed. During this time, The Heinen Group took notice and she was brought on to run daily operations. During her work at The Heinen Group, and her past jobs, Nicole has also found time to sit on several boards and committees most notably the American Heart Association, Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, the Lafayette Economic Development Authority, and the Acadiana Home School Athletics Board of Directors, just to name a few. Nicole Melancon boasts fifteen (15) years in Business Development and Sales Management with ten plus (10+) years specializing in health care, she is the driving force in her community, and the driving force at The Heinen Group.
